It is very possible that Elizabeth was experiencing the effects of her mental health issues
when she made these allegations and which eventually saw her admitted to Callum Park Mental Institution.
Hence the reason why the accused was found not guilty. Elizabeth had suffered from chronic brain disease
for approximately four years prior to her death in 1901.
