These newspaper articles of the day refer to the 202 women who arrived on the ship "Red Rover", this was the first ship to bring women as Bounty Immigrants for the purpose of helping to bring back into line the imbalance between men and women in the NSW Colony. The women were aged between 16 and 24 and were affectionately known as the Red Rovers.
