Informant: Lucy Steel, Daughter of 127 Wilson Street Newtown Sydney NSW, (Copy on File - provided by Jennifer Nitschke, granddaughter of Sarah Mary Finn (nee Abbott)) This death certificate appears to have some inconsistancies in regard to her two marriages, some of the children of the marriages are incorrect and her age at the time of her second marriage is incorrect. The location of her second marriage is in conflict with the marriage location details on her second husbands death certificate. (52) Remembrance Card - Sarah Mary Finn (Abbott) (23 Jul 1928). (Copy on File) (57) NSW Govt, Death Certificate Elizabeth Abbott (2760/1876) Event Notes Note (1) Williams birth place is noted as being Penrith NSW on the birth certificate of his second born child, son Alfred John, the informant was Wiliams wife Elizabeth (nee Morgan). All other childrens birth certificates only note Sydney as being the birth place of William. Williams baptism took place in Sydney and the abode noted as being Sussex Street Sydney. Note (2) Listed in the Parliamentary Return of Landholders Index - 1885 was the following details - Located in Concord, Name of Occupier William Abbott, Acreage 2, No. of horses 2, No. of pigs 2. Note (3) William was found dead in Mrs Walkers Bush. No cause of death noted, may have been from natural causes as an inquest was considered unnecessary. Mrs Walkers bush was a property near where William and his family lived. Amelia Sophia Clarke again appears as William's mother on his death certificate. Note (4) William was found dead in Mrs. Walkers bush which was a property close to where William lived. Note (5) Due to housing development in Concord this Cemetery was moved, graves were exhumed and moved to Rookwood Cemetery in 1938. No record could be found for the grave of William at Rookwood Roman Catholic Cemetery. Headstone Inscription - NOTE: No headstone can be found in Rookwood Cemetery. It could be that no headstone existed in Concord Roman Catholic Cemetery so none would have been moved to Rookwood. Note (6) Williams marriage certificate indicates that his mother was Amelia Clark. It would appear that at some time between his birth and marriage a separation, or the death of his maternal mother Ann Abbott (Collins) occurred. The witness Ellen Morgan was the wife of William Morgan, Elizabeth's cousin. Note (7) Birth Certificate - NOT FOUND There is a listing for Elizabeth in the LDS IGI so there must be a Parish Record somewhere. Note (8) Resided at Concord Rd Concord up until her admission to Callan Park Asylum for the Insane where she was a patient for four years prior to her death. Note (9) The witnesses to the DC were Frederick Hogan, Elizabeth's grandson and George Finn son-in-law and husband of Sarah Mary Finn (Abbott). Note (14) Cannot find a marriage certificate for Sarah Mary Sullivan (nee Abbott) and George Finn in either New South Wales or New Zealand, there are inconsistencies between both persons death certiifcates in regard to location of their marriage, as there is in the age of Sarah at the time she married George, also on the death certificate of Sarah the children of her first marriage have been noted as children of her second marriage.
