Note (2) Augustus William Taylor was a lodger at this address Note (3) The Dwelling that Augustus and Leah and family lived in at the time of the 1911 Census consisted of only 3 rooms excluding the bathroom. Note (4) Augustus was noted on the 1911 Census as being employed at a Hotel. This would have been the Eyre Arms Hotel and Welllington Hall, Finchley Road Saint Johns Wood London England as he has a character reference from his employer dated March 1914 stating that he had been under his employ for the past six and half years. Note (5) Year of migration must be between 3 Apr 1911 as Augustus was still in England at the time of the 1911 Census on the 2 Apr 1911, and Jun 1914 when Leah his wife and children arrived. Unable to determine the name of the ship or entry port and date. Note (6) Application to Enlist in the Australian Imperial Force. Augustus attempted to join the Australian Military Forces but was rejected as being "Medically Unfit for Active Service""Physique below Standard". (Information on the AMF Document states his initials as being C.W. Taylor, for some unknown reason he appears to have been called Charles). His address at the time was Vale Street Canley Vale, NSW. Age - 34 yrs Height - 5'4" Weight - 108 lbs Note (7) Information on his DC indicates that he had been in Australia for seven years which puts his arrival at 1911 preceeding the rest of the family by three years. Whereas his Character Reference was dated 1914. He was still in England at the time of the 1911 Census. Note (8) Headstone Inscription - IN Loving Memory of our Dear Parents Augustus W. Taylor died 4th dec 1918 aged 37 years - Leah Taylor died 9th Nov 1960 aged 80 Interred with his wife Leah Taylor (nee Turner). Note (9) Information on his daughters BC states he was married at Blackfriars, England. There are discrepancies between his marriage certificate and his two youngest childrens BCs as to the year of his marriage. Witness's to the wedding were Albert Arthur Harrison and Rosetta Harrison...Rosetta is Leah's sister. Note (10) Extract from Certificate of Registry of Birth - I, the undersigned, do herby Certify that the Birth of Leah Turner born on the 9th of May 1880, has been duly Registered by me. Witness my hand, this 19th day of June 1880. W. Burrows Deputy Registrar of Births and Deaths Coslany Sub District---- Note (11) Leah Turner is noted as being the sister of the Head of the family which does not make any sense considering his last name is Easton. Note (12) Census also includes the Hotel name "Marlborough Arms". As Leah Turner was a Barmaid working at this hotel she might not have been living at this address. She may have been working the night of the Census. Note (13) The Dwelling that Augustus and Leah and family lived in at the time of the 1911 Census consisted of only 3 rooms excluding the bathroom. Note (14) Headstone Inscription - IN Loving Memory of our Dear Parents Augustus W.
